Up’s Workout to a Perfect Back To School Body

By: Shannon Rosenberg

Hey UP Readers!  So we know that the school year is on the horizon and who doesn’t want to be in sexy summer shape when they step foot back on to campus?  That is why UP has put together a couple of easy, minimal time exercises to get your body toned and healthy before its back to hitting the books.

Here is a great cardio circuit exercise to get your morning going.

Summer Cardio Circuit

-20 minute jog

-1 minute of jumping jacks

-1 minute of mountain climbers

-1 minute of crunches

-1 minute of burpees

-1 minute of planking

INSTRUCTIONS:  As often as you can, try to start your cardio workout with a 20-30 minute jog.  The cardio burns fat and gets your lungs and heart in shape.

Make sure you stretch before you start!!  Stretching keeps your muscles loose and it gives you flexibility that will help you prevent injuries.

Your jog will get your heart pumping and will make it easier to move into the circuit.  Make sure you do the circuit in an area with enough space to lie your body flat.  You will be doing exercises that require a bit of room.

Begin the circuit with a minute of jumping jacks, then a minute of mountain climbers, a minute of crunches, a minute of burpees, and end with a minute of planking.

Repeat this circuit at least twice with a minute break in between the circuits.  On the days that you don’t have time to go for a jog, repeat the circuit five times to get in the cardio.

While the jog will burn fat in your problem areas, the circuit will tone your body and give you a shapely look!

TIP:  Remember that workouts don’t mean anything if you’re not eating healthy and keeping up proper nutrition!!  Half the battle is what you eat.

Get going Up readers, we would love to see you looking great for the Fall semester!!
