It’s summertime now which means we’re seeing a lot more clothing with an “airy” look. Lace has become a hot commodity not only for A-listers, but for everyday street style as well. We’re not talking scandalous lace, but rather more sophisticated looks with lace accents.
With jean shorts being hot right now, some are taking on DIY projects of lace additions to the bottoms of jean shorts. Check out this ”pin-teresting” look :
Focusing now on tops, lace tank tops are a great piece to wear with a pair of cute shorts during the day or with a great pair of white jeans for a night out. These types of tops usually come in solid colors, which makes them easier to pair with shorts or pants. Here’s a few examples:
Lace shortsare another item that is sweeping stores. These too usually come in solid colors, making them more versatile to pair with tops, shoes, accessories, etc. Here are celebrities Selena Gomez, Kristin Cavallari, Emma Watson, and Blake Lively showing off their lace shorts:
Due to it’s increasing popularity, lace pieces are becoming easier to find. When you’re looking for a statement piece for a new outfit, lace may be the way to go!
As we’ve seen high waisted denim shorts become a trend in the fashion world over the past year or so, denim vestsare starting to become more of a staple in women’s closets as well.
They’re easy to pair with just about any outfit whether it’s a summer dress or a pair of colored shorts. Some prefer the distressed look, others theombre look, and some prefer both depending on how adventurous you are with your clothing. Regardless of the exact style, denim vests can be a great staple.
Studs, pearls, fringe, or even a floral print can add to your vest’s look. A vest can make your look more casual, bohemian, or even edgier. Due to their growing popularity, denim vests are easy to find in several stores and online, including Tobi, Forever 21, Gap, and H&M.
Maxi skirts are no doubt a wardrobe staple, ideal for a casual summer day or dressed up for a night out. But for this summer, take a risk with the maxi style by trying out the newest trend for skirts and dresses: slits. And when it comes to maxi slits, two are better than one. The double slit maxi skirt features two long leg slits both in front of the skirt. The slits create flowy movement, show off legs, and offer an unexpected twist on a basic silhouette. VS Angel Alessandra Ambrosia shows just how effortlessly a double slit skirt works for daytime, while Lauren Conrad and Taylor Swift prove the style can be converted into a nighttime look.
Emily Current and Merrin Elliot, star stylists, Current/Elliot designers, and Who What Wear contributors, have expert advice on how to style this unique skirt. They suggest letting the skirt (and your legs) the center of attention by pairing the double slit design with a basic top, such as a t-shirt or a button up. Next, add a statement shoe to the look. The two slits in the front of the skirt are ideal for showcasing jeweled and studded flat sandals, or a pair of wood bottom wedges. Each of the options below would pair perfectly with a simple white t-shirt or button down.

The skater skirt is aptly named after the flowy skirts figure skaters typically wear as they twirl and glide across the ice. Luckily, skater skirts are more than acceptable to wear this season for those of us who are not on the synchronized skating team. Get used to this style, because skater skirts are the skirt of the season.
Skater skirts are fitted at the high waistline and flare out into a full circle skirt. The flared a-line silouhette is flattering on just about all body types and, bonus, it creates the illusion of a cinched waist while slimming legs. Olivia Palermo, Lauren Conrad, and Kristin Cavallari are just a few fashionable celebrities who have recentely been spotted in the skater skirt. They prove the versatility of the garmet, each styling and wearing their skater skirts differntly. Try a t-shirt or chambray blouse with sandals for a casual summer afternoon. Or add a tank and wedges for a night out. Go ahead and get a variety of different skate skirts, in all different colors, patterns, and fabrics (leather is really trendy right now). Check out Lulus and Tobi for a ton of fashionable and affordable options.

The spring fashion week runways were filled with animal prints, with everything from snakeskin to snow leopard to giraffe, and the ever classic cheetah. While these animal skins are still in style for this year, it never hurts to try something different. Animal prints and black & white are going to be huge for fashion this spring, so why not combine the two? Zebra print is the perfect new pattern to try out this season.
Designer Erin Fetherston featured zebra patterns and prints in her most recent collection, proving that the black and white stripes can be incredibly chic. When wearing zebra, opt for either the all black and white look, or pick one standout zebra piece to pair with one brightly colored piece. Incorporate zebra print into your spring wardrobe with any of the pieces shown below.

With so many styles, colors and stores to choose from, it’s hard to not get involved with the tank top takeover.

Wishful for Wood
One of the most desired scents for men’s cologne…is wood. A long time favorite, and classic scent. Mixtures generally are complimented by spices like mint, and fruits.
You can find this pleasantly rugged scent in Encounter by Calvin Klein or Eros by Versace.
Begging for Bright
Another top contender in the cologne department is a brighter scent. Usually with a more citrus, or minty smell, the aroma can be complemented with flowers like Lavender.
You can find this in Le Beau Male By Jean Paul Gaultier or Acqua Di Gio by Armani.

One of the most distinguishable scent category is ocean. An ocean cologne gives the wearer a sense of sunny beaches, and dark blue oceans.

A pinafore, more commonly known as a jumper over here in America, is a sleeveless dress with adjustable straps, meant to be worn over a blouse. The pinafore was originally worn for practical purposes, much like an apron. This spring designers have reinvented the pinafore for girls of the 21st century. Unexpected fabrics, such as leather and denim, along with glamorous details, like crystal embellishments and floral patterns, have updated the pinafore to one of this season’s must haves. Feel free to wear the updated pinafore dress by itself- the new versions no longer require a blouse or undershirt. When it finally gets warm, try this new shape as a trendy alternative to the sundress.

When it comes to fashion, springtime and approaching warmer temperatures mean it is finally time to show some skin (in a classy way of course). Designers—such as Dolce and Gabanna, Phillip Lim, and Jason Wu just to name a few—sent crop tops and bralette tops down their spring 2013 runways. A crop top is a short blouse that reveals the lower abs; a bralette is a cross between the crop top a bra, and it is meant to be worn as outerwear.
The key to wearing crop tops and bralettes is obviously the issue of showing too much skin. And if the idea of showing bare midriff may be a bit daunting, do not fret because the proper styling can make these tops feel comfortable and look tastefully chic. To reduce the amount of skin shown, pair one of these tops with a high waisted bottom. With a looser fitting top, try a pencil skirt or jean shorts. With a tighter fitting top, opt for more volume on the bottom such as an a-line skirt. Or, try a sleek blazer or jean jacket over the crop top as another way to provide more coverage. Of course, the most important thing to have when wearing a crop top is confidence.
